Every year there is a new group of young people who meet at fun-filled weekly rehearsals to learn a dance routine to be performed
at the ball. No prior dance experience is required. The rehearsals are held from 6:30 PM to 9 PM at the Liederkranz
Club located at 6 East 87th street on the following dates:
|
Tue, Nov 11 Tue, Nov 18 Tue, Nov 25 Tue, Dec 2 Tue, Dec 9 Tue, Dec 16 |
Tue, Jan 06 Tue, Jan 13 Sun, Jan 18 from 10:30 AM to 4 PM at The Pierre Hotel Tue, Jan 20 |
Following each rehearsal there is an after-party held at private residences of one of the former Quadrille dancers or at a bar/lounge
near the rehearsal location. The parties are a great way for participants to relax after the rehearsal, get to know each other better
and have fun in a casual atmosphere. There is music, drinks and food and fun.
At the ball the dancers have already become really good friends and enjoy performing dressed up in white dresses
and tails. The ball is held at the elegant ballroom of The Pierre Hotel. During the ball a full-course dinner is served.
There is dancing to live bands until 4 AM. Lots of fun is had by all.
The Quadrille Ball is a benefit for the non-profit organization The Germanistic Society of America which awards scholarships to graduate students. The price of the ticket to attend the ball is $500 per person, however the dancers are entitled to a special discount price of $250. In addition to the ticket price, all ladies must pay dress rental fee of $150 + $50 for accessories (tiara, gloves and dress hoops).
